What happens when three old friends in crisis fall into an unexpected love triangle? In The Catch, Maya, Henry and Daniel embark upon an emotional journey that forces them to confront unresolved pain, present-day traumas and powerful desires, leading them to question the very meaning of love and fulfillment. The Catch tells a tale of ordinary people seeking the extraordinary – or, if that’s asking too much, some damn peace of mind.

This is probably best for him. He had a good run here mixed in with some unfortunate issues. Hope he does well in Seattle
KT
Sorry to see you go
Hong-Chih Kuo

I’d like to see him wildly successful in Seattle, and then come back as a Dodger.
KT
Me too

Bummed to see him go. First Taiwanese player to hit a major league HR. 412 feet, he crushed it and flipped his bat like it was no big thing. I’m pretty sure the helmet he was wearing during that at bat is in the hall of fame.

This sucks, but I wish him all the best in Seattle.

Friend of Dodger Thoughts AJ Ellis said it best on Twitter today:
AJ Ellis @AJEllis17:
Mariners Sign Kuo. Even through his trials I’ve never been around a more consistent and resilient teammate. I have a new favorite AL team.–I will miss that dude. Not surprised Dodgers moved on from him, and they certainly gave him a lot of help and support, but still sad.

One of my fav’s. I used to fantasize about him being an NL version of Francisco Liriano. Was so fun to watch pitch.

Kuo passed his physical.

“But I have no idea what Colletti went into this offseason to do. I have no idea if he accomplished it.” Words of wisdom.
Jason Ungar
Dang I wanna go over there and say how dare you sir…but it’s all true!

I guess my main point of contention with his analysis is that locking up Matt Kemp long term goes without mention. Certainly had Colletti not made this move, there may have been some salary dollars available for others.

The only consolation is that they won’t have Ned to kick around much longer. Not past this season at any rate. If karma is in our corner, who knows, maybe he’ll be back working for Sabean then.
Anyway, hard to argue about this off-season. Not the the Giants’ has been oodles more impressive. But Colletti’s plan is even more incoherent.

Blake DeWitt has been designated for assignment by the Cubs.
Anonymous
Definitely a superior choice over Adam Kennedy.
Anonymous
Judging by the reaction of Cubs blogs, nobody in the Third City will miss Mr. DeWitt.

This is the kind of situation where Colletti’s impatience in this year’s market screws things up.

As a lifelong Dodger fan, decade long Mariner ticket holder this is great news. Need anything to make the season more interesting and Kuo does that. Do I remember in the deep Dodger Thoughts past that there was contreversy on how to pronounce his name? Didn’t that become a banned topic or something.
Anonymous
There was debate over both the pronunciation and spelling. When the pitcher was asked about it, he didn’t really care.

That’s what I admired about him, he didn’t really care…
Recall seeing him a couple times at Nat Stadium in the pen constantly moving and stretching, while most of the other guys sat around drinking Red Bull. Really gonna miss him.

Wake me up, before you Guo, Kuo

He was one of my favorite Dodgers, I’m sorry to see him go!

Old friend Blake DeWitt was just DFA’ed by the Cubs. Hey Ned… :)
EDIT: Just noticed that btimmer beat me to it. Sorry!

I would rather have Blake D than some of what the Dodgers have.

Hong-Chih was no quotidian player for the Dodgers. Best of luck in Seattle.

Is anybody here planning an expedition to spring training the weekend of March 17-18? The Dodgers play the Angels on Sunday the 18th in Glendale. I realize you LA-and-its-environs residents can go to Anaheim to see Pujols anytime, but I can’t fly from Hawai’i to LA more than once every ten years. ;)
Anyway, if there’s such a plan, let me know here and I’ll see if I can schedule my possible trip accordingly.
Jim Hitchcock
I’m planning to get tickets for the 18th, 20th, and 21st, with a possible trip on the 19th to see the Dodgers play the Indians in Glendale. I’ll let you know how it pans out.

Cool. My website is linked to my name, and my email address is under the Linkmeister button on the left sidebar there. Let me know if you think it might come to fruition.

I will be in the area from th 11th-16th hitting Dodgers games at Camelback and one in Goodyear.

I’m considering it… that’s the weekend of my birthday, but me and planning long term events aren’t exactly great.

It’s sad to see Kuo leave he was almost a Dodger fixture.

I don’t know if this was mentioned already, but the the Rockies picked up Jeremy Guthrie from the Orioles. Guthrie seems like a bad fit for the Rockies’ home ballpark, but otherwise I think it’s a solid pickup.
I’m not sure how to check this, but I’m guessing this is the first time two players who went on 2-year mormon missions were traded for each other (the orioles got Matt Lindstrom in return).
KT
Does anyone know what time the festivities start this Saturday at the ball park…Planning on making the trip up from San Diego to hang out a while with my kids, then head to my parents house a couple of miles away so the cousins can play

The schedule is here:
