Manny Ramirez is batting cleanup as the designated hitter for Oakland.
Bummer news from the prep ranks: top righthanded high school pitching prospect Lucas Giolito from Harvard-Westlake is out for the season. Eric Sondheimer of the Times has the report, while Dave Cameron of Fangraphs reports on how this might affect Giolito’s future — and whether this increases his chances of heading to UCLA.

Manny was scratched due to back issue or something. Oh well. A’s up 2-0. Dodgers have hit into two double plays. Harang was a little shaky.
Chris Withrow now in to pitch and walks his first batter on 4 pitches. Not a great start for our boys but fortunately this is all meaningless.

Wow, Withrow practically unhittable, uncatchable, hardly survivable!

When I see “Cory Sullivan, LF,” my brain delivers a photo of old friend Cory Snyder.
I, too, am old.

Not a bad day for this Cory, too. 3 hits, 75% of Dodger offense. Probably end up a AAAA type player this year but you never know.

Kiss your sisters everyone! No extra innings for this game.
