What happens when three old friends in crisis fall into an unexpected love triangle? In The Catch, Maya, Henry and Daniel embark upon an emotional journey that forces them to confront unresolved pain, present-day traumas and powerful desires, leading them to question the very meaning of love and fulfillment. The Catch tells a tale of ordinary people seeking the extraordinary – or, if that’s asking too much, some damn peace of mind.

I like that he’s turned his career around but I feel much better about Puig being finally called up

Sure, but a feel good story needs a downside to the upside.

Extra innings – just what the doctor didn’t order for Dodger pitching.

How many games have the Dodgers found ways to LOSE this year? Time for turning things around.
4-1 in the Puig Era.
Anonymous
So Ramon makes it home on that one, right?
Anonymous
One would hope.
KT
I think not
Anonymous
Jubilation, anyway!
Anonymous
I just noticed that the old-timers’ game can be seen at dodgers.com starting at 5:20 tomorrow.
Anonymous
They have to change the soundbites for the radio postgame to include Puig heroics. Ramon is saying Puig has made things fun — we all can attest to that!
Anonymous
I’m going to the game tomorrow night. I fear the Braves will be out for Dodger blue blood.
Anonymous
Let them know how their fortunes changed after you changed your moniker! (And they happened to call up someone from the minors.)
Anonymous
Whatever works, right?
Anonymous
So, how do we do this?
…
How do we start a massive ‘stuff the ballot box’ campaign to have MV-Puig to represent our Dodgers in the All Star Game?
Anonymous
“Start spreading the news . . . ”
BTW, I like the “MVPuig”!

foul tip
From the Great Moments in MLB Promotion Ideas dept….today is the 39th anniversary of the 10 cent beer night riot in Cleveland. A day which will live in drunken idiot infamy…
The resulting forfeit was one of just 4 since 1954….and the Dodgers had the most recent one, v. St. Louis in 1995 when Lasorda and Mondesi were thrown out for arguing balls and strikes. And balls was the result, as fans peppered the field with the ones they’d been given in a promotion.
The other 2 forfeits also are detailed at the link.

Off topic… If I could read only one author for the rest of my life, it would be Clive Cussler. I don’t know how many books he has written but I’ve read maybe 40 and everyone keeps me totally enthralled until I finish it. And with a deep hunger for the next one, dying to know what he’ll come up with next…
KT
just started zero hour…I’ve read all his books

Hi everyone! I’ve been a fan and lurker since Jon wrote these articles on the L.A times, and subsequently ESPN pages.
J.R.
You might know me from posts such as “Do you want to know the TERRIFYING TRUTH? Or do you want to see me sock some DINGERS!”
I’m glad to see you writing about the Dodgers again Jon!
KT
Hey IBBFTW good to see you here

The Dodgers didn’t really deserve to win that one, not with Mattingly failing to run for Hernandez not once but twice in the last three innings. Each time Hernandez got on base, I was screaming at the tv–aren’t you going to run for a fat 37-year-old catcher?
I was also yelling at Uribe in hopes that he would not swing at a pitch, for fear he would hit into a double play and leave the Cuban Missile in the on-deck circle. I hear Mattingly using the nickname already, so perhaps it’ll stick.
KT
