Well shoot, who knew all it takes to be happy is strong starting pitching, capable relief, clutch power hitting, diving catches and all-around greatness from Juan Uribe? We should’ve asked Latka.

What happens when three old friends in crisis fall into an unexpected love triangle? In The Catch, Maya, Henry and Daniel embark upon an emotional journey that forces them to confront unresolved pain, present-day traumas and powerful desires, leading them to question the very meaning of love and fulfillment. The Catch tells a tale of ordinary people seeking the extraordinary – or, if that’s asking too much, some damn peace of mind.

Too bad Cap can’t get credit for an 11-inning combined shutout over NYY (6 IP) and SD (5) with 9 total Ks.
Think I have this right…since May 12, he has turned in strong starts 5 of 6 times, the last 2 the best. Only hiccup was against the Cards 5/24–5 ER, 5 IP. On 5/29 he allowed 3 ER over 5.2 IP. In both those starts he seemed to have control issues, walking a combined 7. In his 4 other starts he has given up no more than one run. Hard to top that.
Anyway, unless I have a math error, since May 12 he has 34.2 IP, 29 H, 10 ER (8 of those in the 2 BB-plagued starts), 8 total BB (meaning walking just one across his other 4 starts), and 27Ks. All this has come while battling nagging injuries.
He’s never been considered a top of the rotation pitcher. But lately he’s been acting like one.

The new Dodger owners wanted the waffle with all the whip cream, strawberries, and chocolate chips–not too healthy.

I could be wrong, but I believe lefse means latka in Swedish.

From Gurnick’s game story at dodgers.com:
“Me and Rick [Honeycutt, the pitching coach] worked on some
mechanical things and I was able to locate better,” Capuano said. “My
fastball movement was better, especially away from right-handed
hitters.”
And without an overpowing fastball, Capuano needs sharp command, as a former left-hander appreciated.
“He’s working the outside part of the plate and we couldn’t get to
him,” said Padres manager Bud Black. “Every now and then he’d whip a
fastball inside, but it was more down and away he’d nip the outside
corner, change speeds on the ball away. He pitched well.”

Is there magic in the name?
LONDON (AP) — It didn’t take long for Wimbledon to produce its first upset on the opening day of the tournament.
Puerto Rican teenager Monica Puig had 38 winners and eliminated
fifth-seeded Sara Errani of Italy 6-3, 6-2 Monday in the first match on
Court 18 of the grass-court Grand Slam.
The 19-year-old Puig, playing her first grass-court tournament as a pro,
outplayed the Italian veteran with her hard-hitting baseline game.
