What happens when three old friends in crisis fall into an unexpected love triangle? In The Catch, Maya, Henry and Daniel embark upon an emotional journey that forces them to confront unresolved pain, present-day traumas and powerful desires, leading them to question the very meaning of love and fulfillment. The Catch tells a tale of ordinary people seeking the extraordinary – or, if that’s asking too much, some damn peace of mind.

Who would you guess goes on Saturday in Chicago? Got tix with my daughter, who is going to school there (and is very understanding as regards her dad and the Dodgers).

He rounded 1st aggressively and the catcher followed him up the line then blocked the base as the throw came in from bruce in RF

Adios to Votto’s on base streak. Hanley now active leader with 35, I believe. (Hanley himself took away a base hit from him in the first).

There is an exceptionally fine article (better than wonderful or marvelous) about the life of Dr. Frank Jobe at the dodgers web-site: http://losangeles.dodgers.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20130722&content_id=54371126&vkey=news_la&c_id=la#disqus_thread

Fantastic night for Ryu. They should have him only pitch at home.

No sure his wife would go for that.

called 3 out of 4 before this series started so we’ll win tomorrow ^_^
foul tip
As expected, Jonathan Sanchez very unlikely to be a direction in which the Dodgers go if they decide on more starter help. ABQ ERA 5.87, 36 hits in a bit over 30 innings, 6 HR, 16 BB, 34 K, WHIP 1.70. All together now…….UGHHHHH!
On the limited plus side, he did well last time out July 23, 6 IP, 1 ER, 3 H, 2 BB, 10Ks.
Maybe there’s an outside chance he can help next year. But he may think he belongs in the majors and wouldn’t wait. He had an out clause if not brought up. But he seems smart enough not to exercise it so far.
However, experienced bullpen help of the kind Ned likes is available at ABQ:
Javy Guerra, doing well in a hitters’ park. 0.82 ERA last 10 outings, 2.51 overall, 7 saves FWIW, 28.2 IP 27 H 10 BB 24 K WHIP 1.29
Struggling earlier this year may mean the Dodgers would be leery. Hard to see where he’d fit anyhow; not late innings except maybe in emergency.

I hope Sánchez finds another home, preferably back at The Phone Booth To Be Named Later.

In the second game he has played in this season, Derek Jeter homered on the first pitch to him in the first inning today.
