What happens when three old friends in crisis fall into an unexpected love triangle? In The Catch, Maya, Henry and Daniel embark upon an emotional journey that forces them to confront unresolved pain, present-day traumas and powerful desires, leading them to question the very meaning of love and fulfillment. The Catch tells a tale of ordinary people seeking the extraordinary – or, if that’s asking too much, some damn peace of mind.

Jon, the previous post would have been more appropriate to Kershaw’s start in Denver (which I had the good fortune to see in person).

Ricky… BP is over.

8/13/88 my only game at Wrigley…it was boot camp weekend and we had to wear our uniforms to the game, some guy walked up to me and said he couldn’t make the game and he would give me his tickets if I promised not to scalp them…the seats were halfway in between home and 1st, 7 rows from the field…my original seat were in the nose bleed section down the right field line…quite an upgrade

You went to Great Lakes RTC? I went to San Diego; the Navy closed it down in ’93. Lakes is the only Navy RTC in the country now.
We went to the Murph to see the Padres play one weekend. In Navy whites.
KT
I use the NTC clinic for my family instead of using Balboa…little longer drive but much better in regards to waiting, parking, pharmacy etc
Linkmeister
Yeah, I’d imagine parking in Balboa Park might be difficult.
KT
1000 times worst than tripler
Linkmeister
Aaargh! If it’s worse than Tripler it’s really really bad!
Anonymous
As a youngster remember my father one night putting us in the car and driving up to Tripler from Hickham, where we hung out on the lawn. Seems there was a tsunami alert.
Linkmeister
That would have protected you, alright. It’s probably 800 feet above sea level up on that hill.

Let’s get those runs back

Who was sent down or put on the disabled list to make room for Van Slyke, or was he recalled before today?
Jeffrey Thomas III
Elian Hererra. They were just waiting for 10 days to go by to bring Scotty back.
Anonymous
Thank you. I wonder who gets Val Slyke’s frequent flyer miles.

Somebody get word to Ricky that the Lilly HR tradition need not be continued.
Best it leave as Lilly does, dude.

I didn’t see or hear — was Puig’s attempt to score wise?
My fave pre-Puig/Hanley comment — Agon, again!
David Farinella
I hope he learns soon that there are other really good players on the field with him every single game.
Anonymous
So he was forcing the issue?
David Farinella
I couldn’t see if he was waved in and the sound is off.

A screen cap of what he was doing when the ball was hit would be helpful. Lyons said he didn’t run on contact as he should have.
KT
It took after the second step before he turned it on…noticed it my self

It wasn’t completely obvious that the ball Gonzalez hit could not be caught.
The video is up on Gameday although not that much of Puig in it until the plate
KT
there were 2 outs…should have been running on contact
Jeffrey Thomas III
He had a legitimate chance at scoring, didn’t see if he was waved or not.
Anonymous
Thanks — both of you. Let’s hope it’s a moot point!
Anonymous
He was dogging it, shoulda scored standing up.
David Farinella
Watching the game on the iPad, the first season on Breaking Bad on the DVR … Not too shabby.

crazy Hanley flip there

This is the problem with the starter only going 5 innings. relievers are like Howell forced to go beyond situational roles.

Good inning Chris

Two days in a row lefties getting hits off Paco is not normal. Hopefully he doesn’t start struggling.
KT
1st lefty homer of the year
KT
1 more Paco
KT
Let’s get that run back…insurance for League
Jeffrey Thomas III
I think League was up in case Paco got in trouble in the 8th. I imagine with a one run lead in the bottom of the 9th they bring in Kenley, he didn’t pitch yesterday.

Jansen not available tonight?

Will it be Jansen again?

Yep, he’s up. He’s only pitched Sunday and Tuesday this week.

Ouch! Glad Puig hasn’t done that yet… we do have 3 more games though.
foul tip
Hasn’t done what? No eyes here. Thx.
Jeffrey Thomas III
Junior Lake jumped into the brick wall in left field catching Adrian’s foul ball. Van Slyke almost just had a bad collision with the wall of his own.

Ball Game Dodgers Win!!!!
Back to 3.5 lead in the NL West
Back to 6.5 games behind in the NL Race

wouldn’t it be something for them to stretch it out to 18 straight

YES! Big win, coming off the sloppiness of last night and the beginning of tonight. Kenley is showing all pretenders to the throne that its his to keep!

Just caught up to the game and very pleased, obviously, given how it started. Strange game but out boys will not be denied — especially on the road. And Jansen seemed to have some kind of snake charmer hypnotic spell that mesmerized the Cubs into a stupor. Tres impressive!
