What happens when three old friends in crisis fall into an unexpected love triangle? In The Catch, Maya, Henry and Daniel embark upon an emotional journey that forces them to confront unresolved pain, present-day traumas and powerful desires, leading them to question the very meaning of love and fulfillment. The Catch tells a tale of ordinary people seeking the extraordinary – or, if that’s asking too much, some damn peace of mind.

Not saying it was the wrong thing to do to send Fife back down, but wow, how many teams would LOVE to have him in thier rotation right now? Great to have him for insurance and when the team needs a spot starter.

Dodgers without Puig- 23-32 With Puig – 38-17
Anonymous
baseball-reference says 36-17; 35-15 when he starts
Bruce Siegel
Does anybody know what channel the game’s on today using Time Warner Cable? I can’t find it in HD. Maybe I should add that I live in L.A.

this is a free mlb.tv game.
Bruce Siegel
Found it. Thanks!

I miss Puig batting 2nd. Ellis with the DP
KT
Gonzo!
Bruce Siegel
So I’m just tuning in. Is there any news on Hanley since his MRI?
KT
no MRI
Bruce Siegel
None yet? Or they’ve decided it isn’t necessary?
Anonymous
see this http://www.truebluela.com/2013/8/5/4591586/hanley-ramirez-yasiel-puig-brian-wilson-dodgers-
Spence
Looks like they are going to wait a couple days for either Hanley to improve enough to play, or for the swelling to go down to get a better look at the MRI. This has been the Dodgers training staff strategy all year. They never put the guys immediately on the DL, which causes the team to play short. Happened with Kemp, CC, and Mark Ellis earlier.

FWIW Lyons said that he may miss this series.
Bruce Siegel
Well, considering what’s been happening this year, “may miss a series” sounds like pretty good news.

Sick curveball

Not a good start

Thats a double an an error on Puig
Jeffrey Thomas III
Nice, two errors before the first out is recorded.

no second error as beltran stayed on first

No error on Punto allowing the run to score?

good point; official scorer thinks too harsh to give an error
Anonymous
Official scorer gave Punto a break – a good throw and Carpenter is out by a couple feet.
Anonymous
If it were a force play yes; too tough to give an error as slide might have gotten runner in
Spence
Not good Nick

Good throw by Punto would have had him

beltran should be on third
Jeffrey Thomas III
Good thing he wasn’t, would have scored there.

Greinke’s given up 2 CF warning track outs

He is making me nervous.

Crowd steinered that one.

St. Louis fans steiner EVERY fly ball.

AJ should start swinging at the 1st pitch every now and then – every opposing pitcher knows he NEVER swings so they just pump a fastball right down the middle for strike one.
Anonymous
He is 1 for 12 with a sac. bunt and a SF plus more important he is hitting 290 on 0-1 counts

incorrect, it is very relevent as he rarely shuts up

I hold out the possibility that Aaron Boone might say something worth repeating
reply should be to KT
Anonymous
Re Aaron Boone: Twenty years ago this summer we were on vacation, spending the night in Billings, Montana. I noticed it was Downtown Business Appreciation Night at the ballpark, so I took my daughter, then 7, while my wife relaxed at the motel. Boone was at third, and I told my daughter that based on his lineage — grandfather Ray Boone, father Bob Boone, brother Bret Boone — I thought he had a good career in front of him.

pretty good work

Correction: It was 1994, Aaron Boone’s first year in the minors, not 1993.

Lyons doesn’t bother me much but for some reason Collins gets on my nerves.

@THEREAL_DV
Hanley is feeling better, Dodgers want to
wait on MRI because injecting dye will put him on the shelf for 3 days
creating more swelling
.
the above is copied from tbla; not every MRI requires dye, some people, who may not know what they wrote about, asserted that Hanley would not need dye. Not my field.
KT
All shoulders MRI’s require fluid to expand the joint capsule

TY, so very good reason to try to avoid the MRI

Best thing about that play was it took a perfect play from all 3 players involved – Puig, Punto, and AJ – in order to get the out.

Things like Puig coming to the plate last AB, lifting and twirling a bat in first one hand and then the other like it was no more than a baton, help understand the phenomenon he is.
Meanwhile, we mortals do well just to get to the plate and lift the bat above our shoulders.

Another win!! And Kershaw tomorrow. Good chance to get road win #16. Sure is a lot more fun being a Dodgers fan than it was a few months ago.

HUGE, in my mind . . . Hanley in the dugout . . . outhit again . . . but clutch hitting, pitching, and defense . . . and starting the crucial two series with a W!
Anonymous
They’re the LA-D
Which rhymes with T
Which stands for Team
And that means trouble . . . for the opposition!
Jeffrey Thomas III
Are you writing a Dodgers version of the super bowl shuffle or what? Haha.
Linkmeister
Do you have a trombone handy, Bob? ;)
Anonymous
76 of them, in fact. :) That was on my mind . . . at one of the schools where I work, I’ve been greeted by the bookkeeper with “Here comes Trouble” ( a term of endearment — at least I choose to take it that way!) — so I would go into the lines of the song that I remember . . . not many!
Linkmeister
Here you go. Trouble in River City.
Anonymous
Thanks! That’s the great thing about DT . . . support and insight in more than just baseball!
Jeffrey Thomas III
Switched over to ESPN hoping to see a post-game player interview as KCAL does none of that, but of course they are already on to replaying A-Rod’s press conference and getting to his next at bat. Shameful.
KT
At least the cards are giving a recap
Anonymous
Kudos again to the decision to hold Zack for the Cards . . . needed his pitching AND his bat for the W!
