What happens when three old friends in crisis fall into an unexpected love triangle? In The Catch, Maya, Henry and Daniel embark upon an emotional journey that forces them to confront unresolved pain, present-day traumas and powerful desires, leading them to question the very meaning of love and fulfillment. The Catch tells a tale of ordinary people seeking the extraordinary – or, if that’s asking too much, some damn peace of mind.

Kuroda finally had an off game today – I still like to see him do well, but I don’t mind seeing the Yanks lose, either.

KT
way to get on Hanley
btimmer
Why am I not surprised Gameday reads “Coaching visit to mound.”
btimmer
The hated 1-2-3
KT
at least dre look good running out that DP
btimmer
Bases loaded, no outs, run in. Andre Ethier looks back at dugout, “Oh Kershaw’s pitching tonight. Time for a DP ball.”
KT
let’s get some moar runs
KT
Juanito!
btimmer
The last few days have not been to Juan Uribe: Hidden ball trick, striking out on an HBP, and then … whatever you call that.
KT
yes a tough week especially with all the ribbing he gets anyway
Artieboy
Boy we are going to miss Uribe next year!!!
Bob_in_Vegas
If this would have been posted last year, it would have attracted all kinds of (negative) attention.
Bob_Hendley
Doing well at the plate, however.
Artieboy
6 up 6 down. Hope that isn’t a rule violation :)
KT
Come on CC start us off again
KT
Puig!!
KT
Puig’s double was 29th multi-hit game of his career (65 games)
KT
Dre!
KT
Juanito!!
KT
Kershaw!!
Bob_Hendley
Big bat, Kid!
Linkmeister
Do I read Gameday correctly that Puig has been thrown out at both third and home in this game? What the heck? Can someone explain?
KT
1-2-3 DP for the home out…tagging on a short fly ball to CF for the out at third
Linkmeister
Thanks. Wild horse being wild again, apparently.
KT
DP not his fault…dre shattered his bat and hit it right back to the pitcher with bases loaded
KT
the cf was flatfooted and the throw was off line but still got him…shouldn’t have tried
KT
CC!
KT
DP Time
Bob_Hendley
Or that.

Bill Plunkett @billplunkettocr1m
21 scoreless innings by #Dodgers pitchers thru 5th inning tonight. Stretches back to 3rd inning vs Mets on Wed.
KT
DP Time again
KT
Unless Kershaw picks off Mayberry He can’t face the minimum now. Damn.
KT
No minimum for Kershaw
Bob_in_Vegas
Totally OT: The commercial break I heard after the bottom of the 6th featured something interesting . . . a cut-in from the remote at the Chicken Ranch in Southern Nevada, in a county where prostitution is legal.
Bob_in_Vegas
Two runs is better than one or none . . . but what is it with the Dodger bats going AWOL for Kershaw (other than his own, again!)? Maybe it’s a positive thing, pushing him to lower his ERA — out of necessity. What if he went into Witness Protection and got a new identity . . . maybe THEN the bats would come alive for him?
KT
Didn’t they score a lot for him last game?
Bob_in_Vegas
That was by far the exception.
Bob_in_Vegas
I believe it was a piece assessing Cy Young candidates the other day which pointed out the stretch of 2 games where LA scored a total of 1 for the Kid over two games .
WinnipegDave
Kershaw is on a mission tonight – beat Philly for the first time. What a strong inning!
Bob_in_Vegas
I don’t have visuals, but am I correct in assuming that he’s NOT carefree and laughing in the dugout, as he is when he’s not pitching? I picture him as focused and determined (with the talent to go with that!).
WinnipegDave
I’m not the right guy to answer because I only get to listen to the Dodgers, but from what I have read – your image of Kershaw is correct. I don’t even know if he is singing hymns in the dugout a la Hershiser.
ASW1
He’s all business tonight – serious as can be.
btimmer
Kershaw is well-known as being very serious and focused when he’s pitching. He doesn’t really want anyone to talk to him during a start except for his catcher and the coaches.
Bob_in_Vegas
Thanks. . . . Which is why I enjoy all the other photos of him when he IS talking and laughing with the others.
WinnipegDave
Who was it that almost took the standing bet about going up to Kershaw during one of his starts and talking to him? Kershaw found out later and said that he would have taken the player’s head off.
btimmer
Josh Lindblom.
WinnipegDave
Clearly expendable.
Bob_in_Vegas
Let’s get two!
WinnipegDave
A double? Pull him! (Not really…)
Bob_in_Vegas
Get the K or double play!
KT
man’s on 2nd
Bob_in_Vegas
Oops . . . optimistic?
KT
setting up the DP
Bob_in_Vegas
C’mon, Kid — one more!
ASW1
Huge out
Bob_in_Vegas
I feel Kersh IS struggling . . . but I’d rather the fate of his record — and the Dodgers’ — be in his arm.
ASW1
Kershaw just ignored Donnie on that visit
KT
no he replied…”I’m alright”
ASW1
Yeah but he just glanced at him for a second while he was talking to AJ, nodded his head and mumbled “yeah”, then went right back to talking strategy with AJ
KT
Leaves Kershaw in
Bob_in_Vegas
Mo talking about a hit to the OF and you — ‘basically Puig’ — don’t want to miss the cutoff man.
Linkmeister
The Fightin’ Phils aren’t pinch-hitting for their relief pitcher? How odd.
Bob_in_Vegas
Get the K . . . or any (out) play!
ASW1
That was strike 3
Bob_in_Vegas
More and more uncomfortable . . .
KT
3 outs…Get an insurance run or two now
Bob_in_Vegas
Enough for League to mop up!
WinnipegDave
You called it I think!
Bob_in_Vegas
My response is what Rick Monday said to me when i thanked him for that HR vs. Montreal in ’81 . . . “My pleasure.”
Bob_in_Vegas
Kid K!!!!!
ASW1
Got him on strike 4!
Bob_in_Vegas
Just like when he needs to bring in the run, I can picture him saying ‘Whatever it takes!’
WinnipegDave
Can’t stop. Won’t stop.
KT
LOOONG SINGLE OFF THE WALL!!!
WinnipegDave
I bet Wallach flinched.
KT
I was at that game 6/22 where hanley hit him with the line drive…the only time I ever lost the ball off the bat…Tim told me he didn’t see it until it was 10 feet from him
WinnipegDave
Good start by Ramirez.
Bob_in_Vegas
Looks like the bad aspects of Puig are contagious as well as his enthusiasm.
WinnipegDave
Is Shoe okay?
KT
yea
Bob_in_Vegas
Uribe!!!!!!!!
KT
JUANITO!!!!
WinnipegDave
Wonderful Juan!
WinnipegDave
Could have been 6-0 if Hanley hadn’t gotten picked off. I’m hoping that it won’t matter one little bit.
Bob_in_Vegas
Let it be cause for playful kidding, a la Juan and the bag.
WinnipegDave
Yes. And I think Juan will be getting the last laugh tonight!
Bob_in_Vegas
Good for him, the team, and us!
Bob_in_Vegas
I’m careful not to count those chickens, but the extra runs make me feel a lot better . . . so the focus can be a little more on individual stats: Kershaw taken out means he cannot give up a run in this game, earned or otherwise, so his ERA will drop even more.
WBBsAs
But is a five-run lead League-proof?
Bob_in_Vegas
Lately, yes.
KT
1 down
KT
2 down
Bob_in_Vegas
Mo just said Kershaw lowered his ERA to 1.8 and BAA .182 . . . nice symmetry to capture his mastery.
KT

“Inconceivable!” “I don’t think that means what you think it does.”
Bob_in_Vegas
Scratch the Phils off the Kid’s “to beat” list.
Bob_in_Vegas
Speaking of stats, didn’t Greinke win the Cy Young with a losing record? At the most, it was very poor.
WinnipegDave
I believe that Gagne is the only pitcher ever in either league to win the Cy Young award with a losing record.
