What happens when three old friends in crisis fall into an unexpected love triangle? In The Catch, Maya, Henry and Daniel embark upon an emotional journey that forces them to confront unresolved pain, present-day traumas and powerful desires, leading them to question the very meaning of love and fulfillment. The Catch tells a tale of ordinary people seeking the extraordinary – or, if that’s asking too much, some damn peace of mind.

Go New BLUE Dodgers!!!! Road warriors….Playoff bound
btimmer
Tomorrow’s Cardinals-Cubs game has been moved up 3 hours to avoid rain. It would have started at 4:15 PT, but will now start at 1:15 PT.
It’s clear that MLB does not want any rainouts or doubleheaders this weekend unless it’s absolutely necessary.
KT
good move if the forecasters are right
btimmer
Braves win 1-0. Cardinals up 6-0. So the Braves will be home for at least the NLDS. And if the Cardinals win, they will clinch the Central and an NLDS home field too.
KT
Barves already had home field for the NLDS before the game it is just a matter of HF for the whole playoffs for them. They clinched HF with our loss last night
btimmer
And so they did. Bucs won 4-1, so they need one more win to get homefield on Tuesday.

Juan Uribe flashes jazz hands driving in two with a double. #Dodgers lead 2-0.

Youngsters at home, do not pay attention to these outfielders.
WBBsAs
On the contrary. Pay attention, but not do as they do.
KT
Should have batted him ninth

Was thinking the same thing.

Braves go 1-1, Cards go either 0-2 or 1-1, Dodgers go to St. Louis
ASW1
Regardless of what Mattingly says, I’m sure glad Dodgers scoring runs tonight – sure, in essence, what Donny said is true, but I still would rather the Dodgers go into the postseason on a winning streak.

Good to see Carl doing that again!

8 runs?!?
ASW1
Carl looking great at the plate lately, a very good thing considering Puig’s drop off.
Bob_Hendley
Nice to see CC upping his game, and like you say, Puig has dropped off. Of course this was bound to happen, but one has to like the underlying numbers. Despite having a babip of .218 over the past month, he has managed to produce an OPS+ of 126 based on getting on base and hitting with power.
ASW1
I love watching Kershaw pitch

Completely and unabashedly off topic, I saw Carmen last night, with a fiery
Irish redhead playing the temptress. It was really great!
Jack Dawkins
I was there opening night. good show. Thought the Mezzo as Carmen was luke warm, but got stronger as night went on. Same with the tenor. The flower song he spun a beautiful falsetto, but his best singing was in act iv, as was carmens. The young soprano doing Micaela was a discovery, she has a birght future. The baritone sounded like he was in a distant room. He wont make you forget Lawrence tibbett, the best singer ever born in california. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jnENEQSPkC0
My apologies…..I have a lifetime of opera addiction.
WBBsAs
The only thing you would need to apologize for is soccer…or being a Gnatfan.
RBI
Wow, that was fantastic! Thank you. (Next up for me, “Falstaff.”)
RBI
Matty is running well, thank goodness.

Just got home after watching “The Butler,” which my wife and I really liked, followed by dinner at a Chinese restaurant, and I see we are ahead 11-0. Delighted.
KT
Brian Kenny @MrBrianKenny
Koufax had 5 great years. Kershaw has had 3 already on that level. ERA+ 167 to 165 (Kershaw). Rare air.
scooplew
Koufax also had a fine 1961 season. 18-13. ERA 3.52, ERA +122, and league leader in strikeouts (269 in 255.2 IP), H/9 ratio, SO/9 ratio and SO/BB ratio.

Totally agree. We needed the bats to awaken big time.

Watson had to remind me – Pedro Martinez – 1.74 ERA in 2000 – Delino Deshields!!!!
WBBsAs
Or, to quote Harry Caray, “Delino DeSanders…”

This is our largest margin of victory this season. It’s the seventh time we’ve scored in double figures. The first time was on July 3. It is also our 22nd shutout.

Marmol actually threw an inning without walking anybody. How can it be?
And Cappy seems to have done well in his IP, not that he’s likely to see postseason.
