It’s looking stormy in Ohio this evening, and the start of tonight’s Dodgers-Reds game has been delayed. If there’s been a more weather-challenged Dodger season than this year’s, it’s not immediately coming to mind.
We’ve had questionable weather in Los Angeles, Sydney, Colorado, Minnesota, Washington, New York, Philadelphia, Colorado and Cincinnati — in short, every domeless spot the Dodgers have played so far in 2014 except San Francisco and San Diego.
Put another way, in every single road series to an open stadium east of California in 2014, the Dodgers have faced a weather delay.

They should’ve made this one an afternoon game! (I guess logistically it’s too hard to push a game up, as opposed to back.) Oh well. Doubleheader tomorrow then?

And that doesn’t count the Human Rain Delays. With requests for reviewing umpires’ calls, there was one inning in the June 4 game against the White Sox that seemed to go on forever. When was the last time a game at Dodger Stadium was played in less than three hours?

I don’t know if this was a rhetorical question or not, but June 2.

One thing can be said about the Dodgers move to California is they picked a great spot to stay out of the rain and other bad climate, at least for home games. I don’t think there’s another place on earth that it like this. I don’t know how many rainy or snowy days, I’ve been home watching the Dodgers play in the sunshine.
