Regular season vs. postseason

In 23 playoff matchups involving the Dodgers, the team that won the regular-season series also won the playoff series all of eight times.

I refer you to 1988 and 1983 for the most powerful examples. If you’re fretting about what the Brewers’ 5-1 record against the Dodgers means, if the two teams play in the postseason, guess what? Fret no more …

  1. Great post! So true especially with the injuries we have now and top heavy rotation.

    Thanks!

Wow, I never looked at it that way. To tell you the truth I am worried about the Dodgers facing the Brewers in the postseason. I also think the Brewers have the best team the Dodgers faced this year. I also think they’re better than us.
Well I guess there’s still hope.

  3. I think that chart is missing Lima Time in 2004 but the point stands.

2004 is wrong. We went 1-3, not 0-3, against the Cardinals in the NLDS. I don’t remember the date that we played the game, but I remember what time it was–LimaTime.

  5. Exactly. I even brought this up during the playoffs last year . Playoffs and regular season are two different seasons.
