I am hoping to get advice about being a fan at spring training. I went to spring training a number of times when the Dodgers were in Vero Beach, but since I live in NC, it has been harder to make it to AZ. I will be going to spring training in AZ for the 1st time this spring. In Vero Beach, I found that I enjoyed being there more when it wasn’t game time because the access was so great. One could watch Maury Wills give instruction, hear Tommy Lasorda yell jokes at guys in Spanish as he drove by in his golf cart, see the pitchers take batting practice, and listen to players’ comments to each other when they were shagging flies — so many fun experiences that are different from going to regular games. Is the same true in AZ? Is it still a fun place to be when games aren’t going on? Any advice from anyone would be great as I plan my trip! Thanks!
