Clayton Kershaw is returning to Los Angeles early to visit team doctors about lower back soreness he is experiencing, Dave Roberts confirmed to reporters before tonight’s game in Milwaukee.
As Ken Gurnick of MLB.com noted Monday, Roberts said that Kershaw has been dealing with some stiffness the past few weeks.
“I don’t think it affected him (Sunday),” Roberts said, “but he came up a little sore. He still did his workout today. He’s day to day, but he’ll make his start, for sure.”
Following up, Roberts said today that he still hopes Kershaw will make his Friday start against Colorado, though the forecast seems a bit less sanguine than it did 24 hours ago, based on the lack of improvement overnight.
Kershaw’s only career stint on the disabled list came began March 29, 2014, to recover from a teres major strain that sidelined him for all of April that year.

Don’t think there’s much hope for the division, but if Kershaw goes on DL for even 15 days, winning a WC spot would be in jeopardy.

I agree.

With the All Star break we are only talking 2 starts missed, no?
Don Bright
That may be enough. I’ll wait to make any more comments until the results are announced.

My fingers are crossed on this.
