June 2016 NL Rookie of the Month Corey Seager is so impressive, he almost seems to inspire fear in June 1985 NL Player of the Month Pedro Guerrero.

In case you hadn’t heard, Corey Seager was pretty decent in June.

So much so, in fact, that he has been named National League Rookie of the Month, after he hit eight home runs with a .409 on-base percentage, .676 slugging percentage, .446 weighted on-base average, 187 weighted runs created and 1.9 wins above replacement.

Not only did Seager lead all NL rookies in those categories, he ranked with the best NL players of any veteranicity, including fifth in wRC+ and second in WAR. He was a finalist for the NL Player of the Month award, won by Wil Myers of San Diego.

For the 2016 season, Seager has 3.7 WAR, nearly twice as many as the next-closest MLB rookie, Aledmys Diaz of St. Louis.
