Highlights from the Dodger farm system for July 4, including a solid night on the mound and the plate for Logan Bawcom …
- Logan Bawcom tossed four innings of one-run ball and went 2-for-2 with a triple in a 7-2 victory by Triple-A Oklahoma City over Colorado Springs. Mike Bolsinger provided three innings of one-run relief. Andrew Toles went 3 for 4 on the night with three RBI and two extra-base hits, including a solo shot for his first home run since his June 30 promotion from Double-A Tulsa.
- Tulsa righty Chase De Jong (9-4, 2.39 ERA) continued his hot streak, allowing just three hits and one run over six innings, earning his seventh consecutive victory in the Drillers’ 10-2 rout of Corpus Christi. De Jong struck out six and walked one. In his past 10 starts, De Jong has allowed 11 runs in 59 1/3 innings (1.67 ERA) and has not lost a game since May 10.
- Single-A Rancho Cucamonga won its fifth consecutive game, 5-2, as a two-run homer by Ariel Sandoval in the sixth broke the 2-2 tie against the 66ers. Andrew Sopko gave up two solo home runs, but his six solid innings proved to be enough as he lowered his ERA to 3.23. Sopko struck out five and issued two walks.
- Outfielder Mitchell Hansen and catcher Gersel Pitre each had multi-hit games for Rookie League Ogden, which scored seven runs in the second inning and rallied multiple times against Idaho Falls, before falling victim to a walkoff grand slam in the 10th to lose a 16-12 slugfest.
