The Dodgers have acquired right-handed pitcher Mike Bolsinger from the Arizona Diamondbacks organization in exchange for cash considerations. In a corresponding move, the Dodgers have designated lefty pitcher Jarret Martin for assignment.
Bolsinger, who will be 27 in January, pitched in 10 games (nine starts) with the Diamondbacks in 2014 and had a 5.50 ERA with 48 strikeouts and a WHIP of 1.59. He also had a 3.93 ERA in 17 games (16 starts) with 88 strikeouts against 127 baserunners in 91 2/3 innings.
You might remember against the Dodgers on April 19, Bolsinger took a 4-0 lead into the fourth inning before allowing a three-run homer to Andre Ethier and eventually getting the loss in an 8-6 Dodger victory.
Martin, 25, had a 3.29 ERA with 64 strikeouts in 54 2/3 innings. Pitching exclusively in relief, he allowed 34 hits while walking 48 and hitting six batters.
