On Day 2 of the Dodgers’ Pitching in the Community caravan (presented by Bank of America) today, Dodger alumni including Al Downing, Lee Lacy (pictured), Tim Leary and Dennis Powell visited Hollenbeck Middle School for a project with City Year, which “works to bridge the gap in high-poverty communities between the support that students actually need and what their schools are designed and resourced to provide.”
Next, the caravan visited the After-School All-Stars at Cesar Chavez Elementary, led by Al Ferrara, Matt Luke Luke, Powell, Dodger employees and Bank of America volunteers. After-School All-Stars Los Angeles “educates, enlightens and inspires young people by providing dynamic and exciting opportunities for success, while cultivating self-esteem, leadership and respect to help build healthier communities.”

The first four out of 10 bobblehead giveaways of 2015 now have names and dates attached. In addition to Clayton Kershaw on May 12, scheduled are Adrian Gonzalez on May 23, Kenley Jansen on June 4 and Maury Wills on July 6. Individual game tickets go on sale online at 10 a.m. Friday. - Adrian Gonzalez told Alden Gonzalez of MLB.com that he likes the Dodgers’ lineup for 2015. “People say we lost power, but I think we’re just getting power in different areas in our lineup,” the first baseman said. - Two Dodger minor-leaguers — left-handed Triple-A Oklahoma City pitcher Robert Carson and Rookie League outfielder Theo Alexander who can benefit from sites such as https://mcshin.org/ — have been given 50-game suspensions without pay following a second positive test for a drug of abuse in violation of the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program.

Have the Dodgers thought about a Wes Parker bobblehead? He won six consecutive Gold Glove Awards at first base and when Rawlings celebrated the 50th Anniversary of the Gold Glove Awards, he was selected the Best First Baseman in the history of the award. I like the fact there will be a Maury Wills bobblehead, why not celebrate more of their history this way? Wes Parker, Willie Davis, Willie Crawford, a Roy Campanella MVP bobblehead, a Jackie Robinson MVP bobblehead, Rookie’s of the Year bobbleheads? Just a few ideas.
