Newly signed Dodger first-round pick Gavin Lux has reported to Camelback Ranch, where he will play in the Arizona Fall League, as several members of the 2016 draft class got into their first action as pros Monday.

In his debut, Lux batted leadoff and went 0 for 2 with a walk and two runs in the AZL Dodgers’ 8-7 victory over their White Sox counterparts. Brandon Montgomery, a 20-year-old taken in the 26th round from San Jacinto Junior College, succeeded Lux at shortstop, and walked and tripled.

Seventh-round pick Luke Raley, a 21-year-old outfielder from Lake Erie College, had three singles and a run batting cleanup.

The headliner of the day wasn’t a draftee, however. Yadier Alvarez, the 20-year-old Cuban right-hander officially signed by the Dodgers on July 2, fanned seven and walked none while allowing one hit in 3 2/3 shutout innings, despite three infield errors behind him. Baseball America ranked Alvarez the Dodgers’ No. 10 prospect before the season.

Also of note: Keibert Ruiz, a Venezuela-born catcher who doesn’t turn 18 until July 20, doubled and singled in his AZL debut, after posting a .340 OBP in the Dominican Summer League in 2015.

More new Dodgers debuted Monday in a 5-2 loss by the Dodgers’ Pioneer League affiliate in Ogden, starting with sixth-round pick Errol Robinson, a shortstop from Mississippi, who walked in five plate appearances. DJ Peters, the outfielder fifth-round pick from Western Nevada Community College, went 1 for 3, and 20th-round third baseman Brock Carpenter from Seattle went 1 for 2 with a walk.

In addition to Lux, Peters and Raley, the Dodgers have also recently signed second-rounder Mitchell White, ninth-rounder Anthony Gonsolin, 15th-rounder Brayan Morales, 24th-rounder Saige Jenco, 25th-rounder Chandler Eden, 27th-rounder Austin French and 28th-rounder Jacob Perkins.

Not to be ignored, the Dodgers had two minor leaguers win Player of the Week honors Monday: Double-A Tulsa outfielder Andrew Toles (13 for 27 with four doubles, two triples and three walks) and Rancho Cucamonga pitcher Josh Sborz (10 innings, one run, 12 strikeouts).

Last but not least, Tulsa’s Cody Bellinger went 4 for 6 with a homer in a 5-4 loss to Springfield.
