Corey Seager, who among his many other achievements is on pace to break Mike Piazza’s 23-year-old Dodger rookie record for on-base percentage, was one of four Dodgers with two hits apiece in the Dodgers to a 5-2 victory over Arizona.
Justin Turner, Josh Reddick and Andrew Toles also plucked hits in pairs for the Dodgers, who maintained their four-game lead over San Francisco in the National League West.
Ross Stripling allowed only three baserunners (two runs) in five innings with five strikeouts, needing only 66 pitches to get a W next to his name, in what some have speculated might be his final start of the season thanks to innings limits. Stripling also had the first RBI of his baseball career.
Stripling’s 66 pitches entered the top 20 for fewest pitches thrown by a winning Dodger starting pitcher ever. Greg Maddux, who retired 18 batters on 47 pitches in a 2-1 win September 27, 2008 over the Giants, set the standard.

This was a typical Dodger win over a below .500 team. It was a really nice game to maintain the 4 game lead over the Giants.
