On April 12, the Dodgers had a two-game winning streak and Clayton Kershaw on the mound in Arizona, but they lost.
On April 24, the Dodgers had a two-game winning streak and a ninth-inning lead in New York, but they lost.
On April 27, the Dodgers had a two-game winning streak and a seventh-inning lead against Milwaukee, but they lost.
On May 13, the Dodgers had a two-game winning streak and A.J. Ellis tripled, but they got plastered.
On May 17, the Dodgers had a two-game winning streak and a sixth-inning lead in Atlanta, but they lost.
On May 29, the Dodgers had a two-game winning streak and two homers in the ninth inning against the Angels’ closer, but they lost.
On June 5, the Dodgers had a two-game winning streak and Kershaw on the mound against San Diego, but they lost.
On June 8, the Dodgers had a two-game winning streak and … you get the idea.
Eight straight times the Dodgers have failed to win three in a row. What happens tonight?
KT
We break the streak of not streaking on

Ninth time’s a charm.
Linkmeister
If I were superstitious . . .
Fortunately I’m not (throws salt over left shoulder).
KT
Well we are now 1 game under .500 for the season against the Padres….Let’s sweep the gnats to get to the same status
Anonymous
It’s good to sweep this series mostly because the Dodgers just need wins. Over anybody. At anytime.
KT
yea need to win every series and sweep a few
KT
DP…Yes!!
KT
PUIG!!!!
KT
a small bat flip to boot
KT
Time to turn two
Linkmeister
Blast it! I’m blockaded from this game on ESPN2. Why? The Dodgers (and every other West Coast team) claim Hawai’i as their territory, but it’s only recently (within the last couple of years, I think) that ESPN has not broadcast Dodgers games into this state.

KT
Eric Stephen @truebluela 1m
Yasiel Puig is hitting .688 (11-for-16) with one HR in 1st inning, and ,571 (12-for-21) with 3 HR vs LHP
KT
Come on DP
KT
There’s my DP right on time and quickly served
KT
YES!!!!
KT
Now let’s scratch this inning
KT
Puig!
KT
Eric Stephen @truebluela 1m
Yasiel Puig has Dodgers records thru 20 games for total bases (57, 3 more than Del Bissonette, 1928) and hits (33, tied w/Gibby Brack, 1937)

Let’s hope Belisario can do it right now.
KT
Yes he can!!
Anonymous
Belli!
Anonymous
If Belli can turn around, maybe that table for three is available . . . still, the other year-long bugaboo is there: sleeping offense.
Anonymous
Kemp and SVS, just like yesterday, 1 hit for each , both doubles. Incredibly, they each scored on separate Nick Buss triples. Kemp 1 for 3 with a walk, 2 runs scored, 1 SB. SVS 1 for 4, 1 run scored. They both struck out once. Game is 9-9 bottom of 9th. Former SFG Jonathan Sanchez started in his first game for Alb. went 3 innings 66 pitches (in honor of Puig?) gave up 6 runs.
KT
Hanley!…running hard but now limping
KT
Juanito!
Come on AJ

Consistency isn’t always good.
Anonymous
Are we tempting everything by going further with Belli? Isn’t this like a full-body exam of a gift horse?
KT
He’s better with no inherited runners
Anonymous
He shut ’em down in the 7th . . . AND got this one . . . maybe Belli is pulling a Uribear!
David Farinella
A Bellibear?
David Farinella
Evening all… Just back from a thing and catching up on the game… I may be over reacting slightly, but I feel that this series is the one that either pushes the Blue forward to deflates the season. If not this one, certainly all the games against the NL West before the All-Star break. Thoughts?
Anonymous
I agree with the timing — 12 games under .500 basically means you’re not beating anyone . . . and they need to start beating SOMEone . . . LOTS of someones! (And it doesn’t hurt if it’s those ahead in the standings.)
KT
Paco!
Anonymous
Let’s get some runs and give Paco the win!!!
KT
Now come on guys…give paco the win
David Farinella
Yasiel opens and closes the game with a smash?
Anonymous
From your fingers . . .
KT
PUNTO!!
Anonymous
He’s last year’s Cruz.
KT
MEllis!!
Anonymous
Nice to be on the receiving end of a play like that!
David Farinella
Sitting on my hands. (right after I type this)
Anonymous
Okay, David — I’d settle for a Puig sac fly, single . . . anything for the RBI. (I’m not picky — even a run without an RBI.)
David Farinella
Amen.
KT
Puig!!
David Farinella
WOOoooooooooooooo
Anonymous
Was the 2nd pitch; first was high
KT
Yes moving on up!!
David Farinella
Did Yasiel try to lap Mark Ellis on that wild pitch?
KT
SD just tied the phils in the bottom of 9th…Damn
Anonymous
Gotta get another run . . .
KT
two would be better
Anonymous
Of course!
David Farinella
there you go
Anonymous
Seemed nuts not to walk Hanley
Anonymous
Let Bochy be second-guessed — Donnie’s had a season of that!
KT
Let’s go Kenley
David Farinella
Listen, I don’t know about the rest of you, but I’m treating this as if someone is throwing a perfect game.
Anonymous
You mean an “interesting” game. :)
David Farinella
Yes, this has become “interesting.”
David Farinella
Plus, I live in the Bay Area and so I’d love to shove this “Interesting” happening in the face of about 25 or so friends. That sounds more aggressive than I feel, but you understand.
Anonymous
Every time the bullpen is out there, I feel like that!
David Farinella
Just threw up in mouth a little bit.
Jack Dawkins
Ah…a four out inning. Readies the scotch.
KT
Come on AJ…stop those with your body
KT
1 more Kenley
David Farinella
I wish Kenley would pick ’em off.
David Farinella
Whew.
KT
BALL GAME!!
Anonymous
I got the good news from you guys — MLB audio way behind!
Soo many heroes: Puig . . . Ryu . . . Belli . . . Punto . . . Kenley
AND 2 games in a row scoring late . . . Table for FOUR????
Anonymous
Yes!
KT
FYCQ beaned in the bottom of the 10th…bases loaded now for Pads 1 out
Anonymous
Did he take out anyone? :(
KT

KT

Anonymous
Blanks had 3 RBI other run scored on a passed ball by Carlos Ruiz.
KT

KT
ESPN Stats & Info @ESPNStatsInfo 7m
From @EliasSports: Yasiel Puig is 1st player in MLB history with 34 hits, 7 HR in his 1st 20 career games
Anonymous
That 8th inning brought something I hadn’t felt in a long time — optimism about the upcoming hitters: Puig, Adrian, Hanley, even Andre.
Anonymous
I felt the same way. Actually thought,”Okay, we got this.” Then I thought “What?!”
KT
Gnats now in 4th place and falling
